Delivering Decadence

By drenching its new
Happy Indulgence® Decadent Dips™ in chocolate, Happy & Healthy Products,
Boca Raton, FL, promises to keep consumers happy, while keeping profits
healthy. The new dessert bar, which is not an ice cream bar nor a frozen
fruit bar, contains fresh whole fruits blended in cream and covered in
chocolate. Flavors include: Banana Split, Mud Pie, Banana Cream, Coconut
Cream, Strawberry Cream and Cherry Cream. Each 4.5-fl. oz. bar retails
for $1.50 to $2.25 and comes individually wrapped in its own box.
“We are thrilled
with the overwhelmingly positive response we have received thus far with
the introduction of our new chocolate-covered Decadent Dips™,” says Linda
Kamm, President and CEO of Happy & healthy. “The Decadent Dips™ are
definitely considered the ‘happy’ part of our Happy & Healthy line of
products. By combining our core product line, fresh frozen chunks of
fruit, with America’s comfort food, chocolate, H&H has successfully
introduced a premium product that is in high demand with today’s consumer.
The premium bars
join a category of novelties that has increased 4.8% to $404 million in
the last period ended 4/22/01 according to IRI. Unit sales also rose 0.9%
to 138.5 million.
Says Kamm, “With our
Fruitfull® frozen fruit bars, our loyal consumers have already come
to expect premium products from H&H, and they can anticipate nothing less
than that with our new Happy Indulgence® Decadent Dips™. This ‘feel good’
dessert will help fill the niche in the market that is looking for an
extravagant treat to indulge in. By doing so, our franchisees will
benefit from the increased sales, retailers will enjoy the pumped up
profits coming from the same freezer and our consumers will enjoy the
wonderful decadent taste.”
Marketing for the
new line of bars includes in-store demos and POS materials, done by the
company’s franchisees, distributed to retail and institutional locations
nationwide. The company says it is also looking for distributors to get
their new bars into convenience stores. For more information call (561)
